How much will I receive?

The amount depends on your income, household and the rates the government sets for that year. It is different for every person, so we can only tell you what your own situation shows.

Can I apply for a previous year?

Sometimes. Toeslagen allows applications for a past year within a legal deadline. We check whether your year is still open.

Do I need Dutch health insurance?

Dutch health insurance is one of the conditions for zorgtoeslag. We check your insurance together with the other conditions.

What happens if my income changes?

You should report the change. Zorgtoeslag is paid as an advance and is recalculated afterwards, so an unreported change can mean paying money back. We help you report it.

Is approval guaranteed?

No. Only the Belastingdienst decides. We check the conditions carefully first and tell you honestly what we expect.

Zorgtoeslag (Healthcare Allowance)

We check whether you may be eligible for healthcare allowance and apply for you.

Zorgtoeslag is a monthly contribution from the Dutch government towards the cost of your Dutch health insurance. It is paid out by the Belastingdienst/Toeslagen.

Whether you may be eligible depends on factors such as your income, your age, your assets, your residence status and having Dutch health insurance. The amount is different for every person and is set each year by the government.

We check your situation, apply for you where possible, and explain the letters you receive. If your income or personal situation changes during the year, this must be reported — otherwise you may have to pay money back later.
