Can everyone get a DigiD?

No. It depends on your situation, for example registration in the Netherlands and having a BSN. Some people need an alternative procedure. We check this with you first.

How long does the letter take?

The activation letter is sent by post by DigiD, so the delivery time is not something we control. We tell you what to do once it arrives.

Do you keep my password?

No. You choose your own password and it stays with you. We only show you how to use it safely.

I lost access to my DigiD. Can you help?

Yes. We help you recover or request a new DigiD and set it up again on your phone.

Help requesting, activating and using your DigiD.

DigiD is your personal login for many Dutch government services — the tax office, your municipality, healthcare and allowances.

Whether you can request a DigiD depends on your situation, for example whether you are registered in the Dutch BRP and have a BSN. Some people may need a different procedure. We check what applies to you.

We help you request it, activate the letter with the activation code, install the DigiD app and use it safely. Your login details always stay yours — we never keep them.
