Owning a car in the Netherlands means dealing with the RDW (vehicle registration), a compulsory insurance and the road tax (motorrijtuigenbelasting) from the Belastingdienst.
The rules on registration, transfer of ownership (tenaamstelling), APK inspection and importing a vehicle are set by the RDW and depend on the vehicle and your situation.
